Weekend fun + OOTD

Happy Monday lovelies! How was your weekend? I could definitely use another day, couldn’t you? My weekend was crazy! I did way too much! Nevertheless, it was quite lovely. I had brunch scheduled with a friend on Saturday as I do many Saturdays (just call me the girl who loves to brunch! lol). I try to schedule brunches with girlfriends to catch up since life gets so busy sometimes and I consider them my “adult” time. This time, however, I took the kids with me because the hubs had an appointment and wasn’t able to watch them. I have to tell you though, it was wonderful, we had a great time and my friend absolutely adores the kids. Below I’m sharing what we ate and of course, what I wore.

I had the Crispy French Toast Bites. So yum and so much that I had leftovers to take home.

Matthew had eggs, bacon and toast which he didn’t eat and we ended up taking it home.

My friend Hope had Banana and Nutella Crepes…

I got the off-the-shoulder top from Shein after I saw Angelle Marix of Dashing Darlin’ wearing it. I instantly fell in love with it and just had to have it. By the way, if you want to see style, check out here page! She is absolutely stunning and her style is flawless.

So, back to the outfit, when I first tried on the top, I thought it was a little “balloony” and I put it to the side. But then I tried it again and decided not to wear it so low on my arms but closer to my shoulders and it worked. Now I absolutely love it! All Black OOTD

An all-black outfit is the easiest to style in my opinion. There’s really not much to it. Grab a pair of black pants, your favorite tee, black shoes and voila, you’re done. Though I prefer color, there are times when I feel like wearing black. Black clothing evokes such a feeling of sexiness and power and I think we can all need to feel that once in a while.

I walked into Forever 21 to pick up a few basic tees and I ended up picking up this high slit longline tee along with this tan tote . I love the high slit side of the t-shirt because it takes a simple look from basic to chic. It’s also perfect with leggings or skinny jeans. You can easily take it from a day to night look by wearing flats or dressing it up with your favorite pair of heels. I wore a black camisole underneath because it is cut pretty high and I didn’t want skin to show since I was at work. 🙂

I have been searching high and low for a tan tote to use as an everyday bag and I’m so happy I stumbled upon this one. I had previously ordered the Nordstrom BP reversible tote but it was way too big for my taste. This F21 tote is the perfect size for me and it is surprisingly durable. It also comes in three colors and fits just about everything. It’s already become my new everyday bag.

Lace Floral Dress

Happy Monday again! I feel like I just said that, lol. What did you all do this weekend? I spent the time with my boys. Since the forecast called for rain later in the day on Saturday, the boys and I headed to the beach after their soccer game while hubby stayed back and did some work around the house. The weather was so beautiful and our time at the beach was wonderful. It was nice to lay out and think about nothing while the boys dug holes in the sand. 🙂 It was such a shame when the weather took a turn for the worse but I was thankful that we were able to enjoy at least a good part of the day.

Now, let’s talk about this dress. I was skeptical about purchasing it online after reading the mixed reviews. So I decided to go into the store and try it for myself. It was on sale at Anthropologie and once I saw it, I had to have it.

When I tried it on, it fit perfectly. I got in a small and it fit true to size. I love the combination of lace detail on the top and the floral skirting at the bottom. The colors on the dress along with the orange cardigan are the perfect colors for spring, don’t you think? The only thing is that I had to wear a camisole underneath because the top is cut a little low and I’m not about to give anyone a free show. Haha.

AQUA Lace Top and Distressed Denims

TGIF!!!

So, I’ve been on this lace trip lately. I’m just loving all things lace! I recently paid a visit to Bloomingdale’s and tried on a ton of lace dresses and tops which were all gorgeous, and of course, some looked and fit better than others. There were a few pieces that I really loved but when the sales girl brought me this top, I instantly fell in love. The top is not something that I would usually wear because of the mesh and see-through style but I feel like it’s such a classy piece. It has such great embroidery detail, and who can resist the bell sleeves?

The brand of the top is AQUA and they make the most gorgeous clothing and at affordable prices. If you’re in the market for lace anything, check out that brand, you won’t be disappointed. The top that I’m wearing is currently on sale for $30! You can’t beat that price.

My Mother’s Day + OOTD

It was a day well spent.

I woke up feeling renewed after a good night’s sleep. I was ready to celebrate mother’s day with my beautiful family. After much hugs and handmade gifts and cards, my husband and the kids decided they would celebrate the day by taking me to lunch. My sister wanted to take our mom out to my favorite brunch place but my family and I wanted to do lunch at our favorite restaurant, so we wished each Happy Mother’s Day and went off to celebrate. We ventured out to our favorite restaurant “Bertucci’s” which is known for their amazing brick oven pizza as well as fresh baked bread rolls. Honestly, we go there for the bread more than anything else! 🙂 I mean, who can resist fresh bread that’s warm and soft when it hits the table? Also, the salad is just as delicious and the thin crust pizza is just mouth-watering.

After lunch, we took a stroll in the park. Of course, I had to get a few pics in because it was such a gorgeous day and a breath of fresh air after a cold and rainy week.

The dress that I’m wearing is one that I bought at a street fair in NYC (here’s a link to their online store) and I wore it with my Banana Republic cardigan. I started out in heels but switched to flats once we started walking through the park (see, I travel prepared). 🙂
