NYFW Recap Part 1

Happy Friday Babes! As promised, here’s my mini recap of NYFW from this week.

My blogger buddy Amanda Bella and I hit up a few shows earlier this week and we had such a great time. Our first stop was the Irina Vitjaz show who showcased lovely tailored gowns in different hues and styles. We sat in the third row so the pics are not the best but I tried to at least capture a few of my favorite pieces below.

The second show that we attended was the Yu Lang by Lang Yu show where we sat front row. This was the best experience since we were in full view of the runway and we were able to see the subtle details of each look. These designs were a bit more structured but they were still beautiful pieces. I was even eyeing the sneakers; they all had such beautiful designs to match the outfits.

What I wore

I opted for a simple and comfortable outfit with an H&M white blazer (old but I’ve tagged similar ones below), a white OTS top and H&M shorts. My favorite thing about the shorts is the button detailing on the pockets. (The shorts weren’t online so I was only able to link the skirt in the same style below – the shorts are available in stores, however). It dawned on me later that my entire outfit was from H&M except for the shoes which are from Aldo, linked here. Go figure! The Gigi handbag was the best part of the outfit. I received it as a gift from the Shopstyle party on Saturday and even got it monogrammed! How awesome is that? It provided the perfect pop of color to my outfit.

Cold-Shoulder Tie Top x Romwe

How cute is this top? When I saw it on the Romwe website, I knew I must have it. I couldn’t wait to style it with this maxi skirt that I got on sale at Nordstrom. I thought it was the perfect pairing for an easy breezy look. I kept it simple with these Sam Edelman flats and silver jewelry. The great thing about this outfit is that I can wear it once it begins to cool down for fall by throwing a jacket over the top. The skirt is long enough so that takes care of keeping my legs warm.

I’m wearing a small in this top for reference but I did have my mom adjust the straps because they were a bit loose and kept falling off my shoulders. The top has two straps on each side and the bow is actually attached to the thicker piece so it’s not something that you can just tie and tighten. That surely does not take away from how cute the top is however. After a while, I chose to undo the bows and wear them loose which I totally loved. I’ve linked my entire outfit below.

Crochet top x Shein

Happy Hump Day! I hope your week has been fabulous so far!

Today I bring to you this gorgeous crochet top! Let me tell you, I am in love with it! I had the chance to collaborate with Shein again and when I saw this top online, I couldn’t resist it. It took quite some time to get to me because it was a bit delayed in manufacturing but it was totally worth the wait!

The crochet detail is what caught my eye. Anything lace or crochet immediately attracts me and this top was no different. The design on the sleeves, around the neckline and waistline is gorgeous. The top is 100% cotton which is a big plus for me especially on warm days. Also, the top is well made so there’s no fear of ripping through the crochet stitching.

I decided to dress the top down since the family and I were out furniture shopping and I knew that I would be walking around a bit. So I chose distressed jeans and Converse sneakers for a comfortable weekend look.

I can also see myself wearing this top to work (with non-distressed jeans, of course) and I would opt for a camisole underneath since the top is partly see-through.

Peach Romper And Appreciating Your Tribe

Blogging has really given me a new appreciation for my family, my tribe. Guys, my family has had my back so much throughout this blogging process and it’s made me appreciate them so much more. They have allowed me to drag them all over the place to take photos. Of course, I’ve had to bribe my 9-year old by giving up my phone so he can play Pokemon but it’s a small price to pay for the patience that I’m asking of them.

How good it feels to wear an outfit that makes me feel like a total babe! If you saw my instagram stories last week, you’d see that I was in Bloomingdales trying on different outfits. A few of my Style Collective sisters and I attended the Craze App launch party last Thursday and I needed to find the perfect outfit. The attire was “casual chic” so I figured the romper took care of the “chic” and the sandals covered the “casual” part of it. I wanted to wear something bright and the color was perfect!

By the way, if you haven’t heard of Craze App, it’s a new monetizing app launching this month that allows you to view 3D images and real world pictures of how items will really look and purchase them directly from the app. The party took place in NYC and it was a blast! The most exciting part was getting to meet some of my Style Collective sisters in real life!

Yellow OTS Dress x Zaful

I’ve always loved the color yellow. Give me yellow anything and I’m happy. However, I don’t own a lot of yellow. 🙁 When it comes to yellow clothing, it can either be flattering or it can totally make you look like Big Bird! I’ve been searching for the right shade of yellow to go with my skin tone and I was happy when Zaful reached out to me for this collaboration. Once I went on the site, the first thing that I entered into the search field was “yellow” and this off the shoulder dress popped up. I ordered it right away along with the midi red dress from this post.

When the dress arrived, I noticed that it came fully lined which is a big plus. My only issue was the material. It’s chiffon so if the temperature is on the warm side, be sure to sweat! Whew! I took these pics when it was 96° so I was totally asking for it too. Nevertheless, the fit was perfect and I love the style of it with its A-line and fitted sleeves. The color also goes perfectly with my complexion!
