Happy Monday!
I’m finally getting around to posting my first of two NYFW S/S ’17 roundups. If you followed me on insta stories during Fashion Week, you’ll know that on day 1, Thursday, 2/9, I had an early morning job interview during the blizzard. Once the interview was over and I stepped outside, that snow that was blowing so vigorously sideways and slapping me in the face totally changed my mind about going to the shows later that day. I decided to skip the four shows that I had scheduled and headed home only to get stuck in the parking lot at the train station and having to get help to dig me out. Not fun. I gotta tell you though, once I got home, I could have kissed the ground. My home never looked so good than at that moment.
So, with that being said, I started my Fashion Week endeavors on Day 2. The day started with Dan Liu whose collection I had seen in the fall and I wanted to see what direction he would take for his S/S ’17 line. The designs were just as beautiful. Most of the models wore beautiful scarves and colors that truly embody spring.
Next stop for the day was Lan Yu. I especially loved these soft, feminine pieces and I spied a few pieces that I wouldn’t mind having in my closet.
After that, I attended the Hakan Akkaya show which was definitely different. These pieces were more goth and edgy – in a word, fierce!
After the Hakan Akkaya show, I headed over to the Stylinity event to take a much needed break and unwind. Here I met up with a few blogger friends and met others which is always a good thing. 🙂
Later that evening, I attended the AMCONYC presentation.
And the final presentation for the night was Milane Noir, an up and coming designer who’s all about empowering the modern woman. Follow them on instagram @milanenoir to see their wonderful designs.
I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed seeing these amazing designs! I will have my Part 2 recap up later this week.
As always, thanks for reading!
