Though my birthday was earlier this month, I’m still celebrating because why not? No, I’m not going around announcing that it’s my birthday month but inside I’m relishing being born in the month of April and being an Aries. This birthday was pretty special because I got to spend it with my blogger bestie Mary (layersofchic.com). Last year, we both discovered that we share the same birthday – April 6th. How cool is that?! We decided to celebrate in style by having a few friends join us for brunch at Cafe Medi in downtown Manhattan.
The food was delicious and the company was wonderful.
Mary and I both wore bird print dresses to match the decor of the restaurant, of course, (that was Mary’s idea). My dress was from my favorite shopping site ASOS, linked here. (Click here for Mary’s dress). I wore the dress with silver booties which I found last minute on Amazon. These booties are super stylish and so comfortable, I was able to walk around in them for hours! I completed the outfit with this very stylish Brahmin bag. I just love the shape and color of this bag!
So, now that I’m a year older, I’d like to share one thing important thing that I’ve learned over the past year.
1- Do not voice everything that comes into your head! I’m a pretty blunt and observant person. I notice things that others don’t and sometimes I cannot refrain from saying something about what I’m observing. I’ve learned that not everything needs to be voiced especially when I’m at work. I’m learning to be more sensitive to people’s feelings and to become a better listener. Okay, that’s probably 3 things right there but the important thing is that I’m learning.
