Do you own that one cardigan that you just don’t know how you’re ever going to style it? Well, one option is to cinch it at the waist with a belt. To tell you the truth when I first received this sweater, my first comment was “Oh boy, how am I ever going to style this?” But with a little imagination, it all came together. I love over-sized sweaters but they’re not easy to style especially if you have a smaller frame. You basically have to think a little harder to make it work for you. However, I was drawn to this cardigan. I love the cable-knit pattern and the color – especially the color! It’s a pretty mustard shade that is so perfect for the fall season! Lately, I’ve been trying to work more bold colors into my wardrobe and this cardigan is a perfect addition. The quality is amazing and it’s super warm! Since it was so big, I added a belt (old from Target) so that it wouldn’t look like I was being swallowed by the fullness of the sweater. But I would totally wear it without a belt as well.
The top that I’m wearing underneath the cardigan is from Banana Republic which I purchased a few weeks ago and it was the perfect layering piece to wear under the sweater. I love the lace and tie details at the neckline. The lace-up flats are also from Banana Republic but they’re sold out so I’ve linked similar styles below. I’m wearing boyfriend jeans from Charlotte Russe (linked below). I’ve noticed that if I’m looking for distressed jeans, I can easily find them in that store. They have such a wide selection and at an affordable price. The choker is from Forever 21 – I chose to wear it loose because honestly, I don’t want to feel like I’m choking because that’s no fun, right? I’ve linked a similar style below.
I’m looking forward to styling this sweater over an LBD with booties. How would you style this sweater? Let me know in the comments below.
As always, thank you for reading.

You are SO beautiful, Gail! I don’t usually gravitate towards oversized or chunky knitwear as I feel it makes me look bulky and tiny! I love how you managed to defy that by adding that belt! And LOVE that peekaboo eyelash lace! <3

Too adorable! I think that mustard is the most underrated Fall color! This looks like the coziest chunky sweater & I love how you added the belt! It really did pull the whole look together! XO
