Happy Monday!
Can you believe it’s August 1st? Where did the time go? Now I feel this crazy rush to do all things summer because it will be over before you know it!
I know I’ve been MIA on the blog for the past week but I’m finally back! So many things have happened in the past week which made me have to put the brakes on posting and on social media. My dad was battling dementia for a few years now and he recently passed away. We knew that his time would be coming but it’s true that you’re never prepared for when it actually happens. We laid him to rest this past Friday and said our final goodbyes. I finally feel some closure after the week-long wait for his funeral. All the tears have been shed and now the memories of him are just that – memories, without the deep feelings of grief. Thank you to everyone who reached out to me and my family and to the blogging community who reached out to me over IG. I appreciate each and every one of you.
The photos below were taken many weeks ago and I’m just getting them up. The dress was purchased at Old Navy while shopping with my mom. We were in line waiting to pay and I saw it on a back wall and asked her to grab it for me while I held our spot in line. I didn’t have a chance to try it on but I was so happy when I did get to try it on at home and it fit perfectly. I’m wearing a size small for reference. I took it with me for my trip to Jamaica but I ended up not wearing it because it was basically shorts and bathing suits all day while I was there. I ended up wearing it to work when I returned from my trip and I felt so good in it. The dress comes fully lined and it’s made with a soft crepe material which definitely helps in the warm weather.
