The Upside of Things Week 5 + Thanksgiving OOTD

Happy Friday and what a wonderful Friday it is! The sun is shining and it is unseasonably warm and I’m loving every minute of it.

This week was a pretty good week.

1. I returned to the office on Monday after working remote for 2 weeks. I worked from home on Tuesday which is my regular work from home day. While I was home on Tuesday, we were told that we could work from home on Wednesday. How great is that?! Then I was off for Thanksgiving and working 1/2 day from home today (I work for a financial institution so we go by bank holidays). So basically, I went into the office for one day. Sweet!
2. My brother and sister-in-law are visiting from Maryland and they have the two most adorable kids. A 4-month old baby boy and a 2-year old girl (they’re simply the cutest!) You can imagine how distracted I am this week.
3. Thanksgiving was a blast. My sister cooked and we ate well. I had to stop eating a few times to make more room and by the time I was done, I couldn’t move. Everything was delicious! That night, we laughed, we danced (yes, we did our own soul train line, haha) and to top off the night, we sang a little karaoke. My brother picked up a karaoke machine while living in Japan and he brings it each time he visits. It’s so much fun!
4. Today, I plan on checking out all the Black Friday deals, I’m pretty excited actually. I do my shopping online because I’m not daring enough to face the stores. I’m also looking forward to Cyber Monday to snag more deals. The biggest thing that I look out for besides discounts is free shipping to stores that wouldn’t offer it in general.

Below is what I wore on Thanksgiving. The weather was gorgeous (temps in the 60’s) so there was no need to bundle up. I hope everyone had a good week and a great Thanksgiving if you celebrate. Have a fabulous weekend!
