Getting back to business: Home Base

Now that summer is winding down, it’s time to get back to all the things that have been put on hold. During the spring, my husband and I started the process of updating our house, meaning repaint and actually decorating the bare walls. I’ve spent quite a bit of time trolling Pinterest for ideas and also picking my sister’s brain since she has an eye for interior design. We’ve made some progress but still have a long way to go.

So far, we’ve painted the living room and hallway in a neutral color called “Everlasting” from Benjamin Moore and removed blinds in the living room and replaced them with curtains. I also found this really nice wall art at Home Goods that we put up in the living room.

The photos below are some of my favorite pins from Pinterest. As you can see, I’m all over the place but I’ve gotten some really good ideas so far. My plan is to consolidate some of these ideas and start narrowing them down to one central theme. What do you guys think?

I love warm colors; and I just love the color scheme here with the bright yellow and red. I’ve adopted this color scheme with pillows and throws.
