Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. The weather was exceptionally beautiful in New York but I know that some folks had storms and not the greatest weather so I hope you made the most of it and that everyone’s safe!
Saturday was a day of rest for us and it was great. I feel so guilty when I’m not physically busy on the weekend but I know that my body needs it sometimes.
If you caught my snaps yesterday, you’ll see that I spent the day sans kids in the city with a friend. My friend was gracious enough to help me out with a photoshoot in Tribeca and then we grabbed something to eat and explored China town. It was definitely a Sunday well spent.
Last weekend, the family and I visited Welling Court in Astoria, Queens where we did a photoshoot. I’d never heard of Welling Court but after seeing the beautiful murals posted by Taylor of Stop, Drop and Vogue in this post, I asked her for the location and she was nice enough to share it. Welling Court Mural Project was a way for residents to transform their Astoria neighborhood into an artistic and cultural landmark. Founder Jonathan Ellis partnered with Ad Hoc Art in 2009 and debuted 40+ murals in May 2010. Now 6 years later, there are over 130 murals open to the public for their enjoyment. It was wonderful walking around and checking out the different artwork.
In the photos, I’m wearing this Dolman Slouchy tunic from The Mint Julep Boutique. It’s such a great top and so perfect for fall. The material is soft and I love the fact that it’s long so you can wear it with leggings, and, if you’re short enough as a dress with tights.
These tunics are usually $48 but the lovely folks from the Mint Julep Boutique are offering them to my lovely readers for $24. This is an awesome deal because this special is only open to the public on Sundays but you can take advantage of this great price any day of the week. There are also a variety of colors that you can choose from. Click here for access to this exclusive offer!
